Name and Nickname: Holly (I am way too well behaved for a nickname)
Whats your real job: I have recently stopped work after working for Rio Tinto – Pilbara Iron for nearly 20 years…so I am a lady of leisure at the moment.
Favorite Workout: Anything that is the most least amount of time for that week of training……so if the run is only 50 mins and the bike is 4 hours….then the run it is! He he
Biggest waste of your time: I absolutely hate grocery shopping…..pointless…..because I am back there again in only a few days.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why: I have been quite fortunate and have travelled to a lot of places around the world, but I have to say I would travel anywhere in Europe as the landscapes are just so gorgeous, and I love all the history and culture. I also like how you only have to drive for 2 hours and you are in another country.
Favorite Celebrity: I have actually pondered this question for a while, and I don’t think that I have one.
Something people don't know about you: I was part of the official team that did the first ever and only scuba dive relay from Cottesloe to Rottnest on race day with all the swimmers above us! am not sure I would brave it now with all the white pointers out there!
Any quirky or superstitious things you do prior to a race: I always eat the same dinner meal the night before a race. I always paint my nails pink for race day and wear the same pair of earrings for good luck also.
Which is your favourite 4 legged creature and why: Oh my red cattle dog Honey of course….she is a rescue dog and is the most loyal and affectionate dog we have had. And the fact that she is quite legendary here in Dampier at the Vets. She ate 4 raw pizza doughs one night (she scooped them off my kitchen benchtop)….then the next day I got home from work and it appeared that the yeast had fermented in her stomach and Honey the dog was totally drunk…she couldn’t walk, would try to sit and fall over and stunk like beer…so off the vets we go…$600 later and a night in the vet hospital on a drip…..best hangover cure I have heard of J.
Who or What in triathlon inspire you: I am inspired by all of us Mum’s out there giving this sport a go. It is one thing to do triathlons but quite another trying to work, raise kids and find time to train (especially if hubby does training/sport also). You need to be extremely organised to make it all work!
Favorite song: This changes all the time…..I usually have a favourite song that is in the current top 40.
Goal In triathlon: to become a faster runner!
What does a perfect day look like to you: A sleep in would be fantastic and going out for breakfast….perfect!
What’s your guilty pleasure: A nice glass of champers with some delicious camembert cheese.
